Meet Project Alex — Your Intelligent Desktop Companion.

Project Alex is an experimental AI assistant that lives on your desktop, not in a browser tab. Unlike Siri or ChatGPT, Alex runs entirely locally on your machine. She sees your cursor, lives on your taskbar, and talks with you via voice in real-time.

• 🗣️ Full Voice Control: Just speak naturally. Say "Alex" to get her attention.
• ⚡ Interruptible: You can cut her off mid-sentence — just say "Stop".
• 🔒 100% Private & Offline: Powered by local Whisper (STT), Llama (LLM), and Kokoro (TTS). No audio or data ever leaves your PC.
• 🖐️ Drag & Drop Placement: She walks on your taskbar by default. Want her somewhere else? Just drag and drop her anywhere on the screen, and she will stay there.
• Scroll to Resize: Hover over her and scroll your mouse wheel to change her size.

• Multi-monitor support is currently experimental.
• The settings menu is a work in progress.

💻 System Requirements:

Since the AI runs locally on your hardware, a dedicated GPU is highly recommended.

• OS: Windows 10/11
• GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 or better (recommended for fast response).
• RAM: 8GB+ minimum.
• Microphone: Required.
